ABOUT PAAL

Pharm Access Africa Limited Limited was founded in 2001 with the mission of increasing access to healthcare for the people of Africa. In 2001, per capita healthcare spending in countries like Kenya was around $29, but through various initiatives, this number has gradually increased over the years.

However, data from Kenya and other countries in the region show that access to healthcare remains a problem. Despite an increase in per capita healthcare spending, government expenditure on health as a percentage of total government spending has declined in recent years, falling from 7.8% in 2007 to 4.31% in 2018 in Kenya.

At Pharm Access Africa Limited Limited, our Vision is "Better Health Better Lives," and we are committed to upholding our Core Values: Honesty, Integrity, Transparency, Partnerships, Value for Money, Efficiency, and Visionary Thinking as we work towards our Mission of “Increasing access to high-quality, affordable healthcare for the people of Africa”.

According to the World Bank Health expenditure per capita (current USD) in Kenya was reported at 1243 USD in 2014. Total health expenditure is the sum of public and private health expenditures as a ratio of total population. It covers the provision of health services (preventive and curative), family planning activities, nutrition activities, and emergency aid designated for health but does not include provision of water and sanitation.
